Therefore, EDM finishing should be used before the end of EDM, otherwise the surface will form a hardened thin layer. If the EDM finishing standard is not selected properly, the maximum depth of the heat affected layer can reach 0.4mm. The hardness of the hardened layer is higher than that of the base, which must be removed. Therefore, try to add a rough grinding to provide a good foundation for polishing.
2. Heat treatment process: if the heat treatment is improper, the hardness of the steel surface is uneven or the characteristics are different, which will cause difficulties in polishing.
Third, polishing technology: because polishing is mainly done by hand, so people's skills are still the main reason to affect the quality of polishing. Generally speaking, polishing technology affects the surface roughness. When a workpiece is determined to need mirror polishing, the steel with good polishing performance must be selected and all of them must be heat treated, otherwise the expected effect will not be achieved
